A Sri Lankan Attorney-at-Law does not have a “calendar problem” or a “money problem” in isolation. The date in court, the client, the fee note, and the question of whether money was trust or operating are the same working week. When those live in four tools, something is always late.
MyTracksy Legal is built as a practice workspace: court diary, cases and clients, a trust and operating ledger, fee notes, and tax-ready records you can export. It does not hold client money, run a bank, file with IRD, or appear in court for you.
Why trust and operating must stay distinct in the record
If you type a receipt into the wrong book, the screen will still look tidy. The practice will not. MyTracksy Legal lets you record trust notes and operating fees as amounts you enter, in ledgers the workspace keeps separate. That is bookkeeping support. It is not a trust-account licence, not a statutory audit, and not legal advice about how client money must be held.
A week that fits the diary
- Put the next court dates in the diary when the date is fixed, not the night before.
- Open the case from the diary so the client and the fee note sit on the same record.
- Record fees against operating when they are fees. Record trust movements only as notes of amounts you enter — the bank remains the bank.
- Capture supporting images on the device you already use for the practice phone.
- Export for your accountant from the signed-in ledger; Pro adds reports where your plan includes them.
Honesty limits
- No automatic scrape of court websites.
- No e-filing of motions or tax returns.
- No card payments or money movement inside the app.
- Confidential working records follow the workspace rules on the Legal page — read them before you store client files.
